Philosophy and Process
The theoretical foundation of our practice is based on post-modern, narrative, solution-focused, and feminist modalities, but we work with each client in the way that suits them best. All clinicians at the Center are well versed in working individually with women, men and heterosexual, lesbian, and gay couples.
Our expert clinicians recognize that societal and personal views of sex, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, and age can influence and impact our mental health. We feel that strengthening understanding between men and women is good for our society as a whole.
Our process
We have developed a straightforward four-step process as a guide when working with our clients. Here is what you can expect:
Step 1. Assessment: This is where we identify the challenges you are currently facing, when they developed, and when they are most troublesome to you.
Step 2. Techniques: At this point, your therapist will offer helpful, custom-tailored techniques to help you identify, understand, and cope with these challenges.
Step 3. Insight: This is where we analyze the root of the problem and initiate a path towards achieving your therapeutic goals. We focus on healing past issues and help you solve the problems you are facing today.
Step 4. Closure: This is where we begin the process of closure by reflecting and celebrating what you have learned and how you have changed. If at some point in the future you feel the need to return to therapy, our door is always open. We can resumeĀ the therapeutic process with established trust and historical context.
